The End 

The year is 2060 and the end of days is finally amongst us. After the corruption of Meta Corp. and the Watcher ran rampant throughout the digital world over the last decade, people finally began to rise up and fight back.

While their efforts were for the greater good, they came far too late in the grand scheme of the Metaverse and the digital war eventually led to an event known as The Big Reset. After the Big Reset, the entire Metaverse was wiped clean leaving behind only a big vast white nothing. Many lives were lost and among them were the corrupt corporate entity known as the Watcher and the top-ranking officials that made up the government organization that represented him. Nobody from the old world is left and humanity has suffered its biggest pandemic of all time, the plague of technology.

As the few survivors finally log out of the Metaverse, with some of them being in the system for well over a decade, they finally get to see firsthand all the damage that they’ve caused and how their negligence to fix the problems they created made everything worse. Some are too frightened by the concept of returning to the real world and believe that humans are meant to live in the Metaverse as evolution would have it. Others feel that The Big Reset happened for the greater good and that while the Metaverse was seemingly a great advancement in technology, it was ultimately toxic to mankind.

People soon rediscover libraries that contain books from the old world, books that teach farming, medicine, cooking, everything that they’ve abandoned for so long. With the path clear for some, the conflicted others secretly plot against them with a plan of waging one last war, leaving only those who want to return things to old ways or those who want to rebuild the Metaverse without the looming presence that was The Watcher overseeing their lives.
